The OZEV Grant

Lemac Electric Vehicle Chargers

Because electric vehicles are a crucial step to decarbonising our transport system and reducing air pollution through zero tailpipe emissions, the government recognises that many people will want to charge their electric vehicles at home. This grant scheme is designed to help them do so.

The Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme is a grant that provides a contribution to the cost of one chargepoint and its installation. A grant cap is set at £350 (including VAT) per installation.

The main requirement is that a person owns, leases, or has ordered a qualifying vehicle and has dedicated off-street parking at their property. A person may apply for 2 chargepoints at the same property if they have 2 qualifying vehicles.

Which vehicles are eligible for the OZEV Grant?

Not all plug-in vehicles are eligible for the OZEV EVHS grant. All full battery electric vehicles are eligible, but plug-in hybrid vehicle CO2 emissions must be calculated below 50g/km.

How do I claim the OZEV Grant?

To claim up to £350 off the cost of your new home charging point, all you have to do is answer a few simple questions and share some documents with us when ordering your Lemac EV Charger. Lemac will then claim the grant on your behalf.

Additional grant in Scotland

Alongside the £350 funding provided by the Office for Low Emission Vehicles (OZEV), the Energy Saving Trust can provide additional funding of £300 on top of this, for customers in Scotland. An additional £100 is also available for those in the most remote parts of Scotland.

The initial £350 covered by OZEV will be paid to your supplier directly by OZEV. Any funding claimed from Energy Saving Trust will need to be done so retrospectively – you will pay your supplier and Energy Saving Trust will then provide you with your reimbursement.

Any remaining costs above the funding provided by OZEV and the Energy Saving Trust you would need to pay for yourself.

Any installation carried out by an OZEV-accredited supplier is eligible for the £350 funding that OZEV provide, however to be eligible for Energy Saving Trust funding of up to an additional £300 (or £400 for those in the most remote areas of Scotland), installations must be carried out by an approved installer.
