After the announcement of Quattro models, Audi brings another model to Q6 range

After launching the fully electric Q6 e-tron with the Quattro powered models last month, Audi have announced the specifications for the e-tron performance model. This highly effiecient model has rear-wheel drive and a 100 kWh lithium-ion battery (94.9 kWh net), the Audi Q6 SUV e-tron performance has a class-leading range of up to 392 miles (according to the WLTP cycle). This capability puts it at the top of the Q6 SUV e-tron family when it comes to electric range. In addition, the scalable Premium Platform Electric (PPE) demonstrates its flexibility with the first purely rear-wheel drive variant. The new Audi Q6 SUV e-tron performance will be available to order in the UK later in the summer, priced at £63,475 (MDP).

The Audi Q6 SUV e-tron marks the start of a new generation of electrically powered vehicles at Audi. At the world premiere in March of this year, the brand with the four rings presented two variants of the new model: the Audi Q6 SUV e-tron quattro, which offers typical Audi sporty performance with a system output of 388PS, and the SQ6 SUV e-tron with a system output of 490PS (up to 517PS with launch control* engaged).

The latest variant, the Audi Q6 SUV e-tron performance, uses a particularly efficient rear-wheel drive set-up. A compact and powerful permanent magnet synchronous motor (PSM) provides a system output of 306PS. The 0-62mph sprint takes 6.7 seconds. When launch control is engaged, the system power output increases to 326PS and the 0-62mph time is 6.6 seconds.

Such capabilities make the Audi Q6 SUV e-tron performance an attractive choice for customers who are looking for an extended electric range, dynamic performance, and suitability for everyday use with brief charging stops. With up to 392 miles on a single charge, the Audi Q6 SUV e-tron performance is among the best in its class for electric driving range.

The Q6 SUV e-tron performance has a charging capability of up to 260 kW. At a suitable fast charging station, it is possible to add 161 miles of  driving range in 10 minutes. The new rear-drive variant is the latest member of the Audi Q6 SUV e-tron family. It has the longest range within the model portfolio. The Audi Q6 SUV e-tron performance can be ordered in the UK later the summer, priced at £63,475 (MDP). Customer deliveries of this variant are planned for the third quarter of this year. The first deliveries of the Audi Q6 SUV e-tron quattro and Audi SQ6 SUV e-tron variants to customers are scheduled to begin in August. Later in the summer, an entry-level variant called Q6 SUV e-tron, also featuring rear-wheel drive, will be added to line-up, featuring a smaller 83kWh (gross) battery pack.

The Q6 e-tron model family, the first all-electric model series produced at the Ingolstadt plant, stands for Audi's commitment to sustainability, from production to product. The company is gradually refitting all production sites for the manufacture of all-electric models instead of building new ones. In line with the early decision to phase out the combustion engine, Audi has also intensively promoted the transformation of its employees and trained the workforce for fields of the future, for example, in the new battery assembly plant in Ingolstadt. The brand with the four rings is thus increasing vertical integration and bringing important skills to the sites. At the same time, Audi is creating new job opportunities.
