Factored development charge point funding

The factored development charge point grant is funded by Transport Scotland and managed by Energy Saving Trust to give people living in factored developments better access to charge points for electric vehicles (EVs). 

The grant is available to property managers in Scotland, providing up to 25% of the cost to install communal charging infrastructure for EVs. This available alongside OZEV funding options.

Used Electric vehicle loan

If you’re considering a used electric vehicle and you live in Scotland, keep reading. We offer an interest-free loan for individuals, repayable over up to six years. The used electric vehicle loan is funded by Transport Scotland and can help you purchase used electric vehicles with up to £25,000 available for used cars or vans.


This loan is open to households with a gross income less than £50,000 or that live in a small town, rural or remote area including the Isles of Scotland. This can be combined for any OZEV grants for charging at residential properties.

OZEV funding for charge points for home and business


The Office for Zero Emission Vehicles (OZEV) has various grant funding options that can help towards both domestic and commercial customers. OZEV are working to provide support for the uptake of plug in vehicles, as well funding to support chargepoint infrastructure across the UK. All of our chargers are approved by OZEV, meaning they qualify for all applicable grants.


If you are eligible, these could save you thousands of pounds towards the cost of installation of one or more charge points at your home or work. We'll work with you on any installation enquiry to see if your circumstances fit into any of these options.

Electric Vehicle chargepoint and infrastructure grant for Landlords

There are two grants available for installing chargepoints for electric vehicles at your property: 


Chargepoint Grant: This grant covers 75% of the cost to buy and install an EV chargepoint socket, up to £350 per socket. EV 


Infrastructure Grant: This grant covers 75% of the cost for broader building and installation work needed for multiple chargepoint sockets. 


You can receive up to £30,000 depending on the number of parking spaces, with up to £350 per chargepoint socket and £500 per parking space for supporting infrastructure.

Electric Vehicle infrastructure grant for staff and fleets

This grant is for small and medium-sized businesses.


An EV infrastructure grant provides money to cover 75% of the cost of building and installation work for multiple chargepoint sockets, up to £15,000. It can cover current and future installations, including items like wiring and posts. You can get: 


Up to £350 per chargepoint socket.

Up to £500 per parking space with infrastructure.


You can receive up to 5 grants across 5 different sites.

Electric vehicle chargepoint grant for renters and flat owners

An EV Chargepoint grant can help towards the cost of installing an electric vehicle chargepoint socket at your property.


You can get 75% of the cost and installation of a socket, up to a maximum of £350.


You can apply for this grant if you either own and live in a flat, or rent any residential property (including properties under the shared ownership scheme). You must own an eligable vehicle and your home must have it's own private off-street parking space.

Workplace Charging Scheme

The workplace Charging Scheme provides support for organisations towards the cost of installing up to 40 electric vehicle chargepoint sockets at their sites.


The scheme covers up to 75% of the total costs of the purchase and installation of EV chargepoints (including VAT), capped at a maximum of: 


£350 per socket

40 sockets across all sites per applicant - for instance if you want o install them at 40 sites, you will have 1 socket available per site.

There is a separate scheme with a different grant amount for state-funded education institutions.
