Smart has taken another significant step in its electric journey with the unveiling of the all-new #5 model at a world premiere event in Byron Bay, Australia. This latest addition marks Smart’s entry into the premium mid-size SUV segment, further expanding its all-electric portfolio alongside the #1 and #3 models. The Smart #5 is designed to offer a top-tier SUV experience, combining advanced electric drive systems with state-of-the-art driver assistance technologies and a seamless, intelligent cockpit. This model represents the brand’s most versatile vehicle yet, meeting the diverse needs of customers globally.

Styled by Mercedes-Benz, the #5 features signature design elements such as a panoramic halo roof, frameless doors, and smart’s characteristic oblong headlights. With a wheelbase of 2,900 mm and an overall length of 4,705 mm, the #5 blends aesthetic appeal with functionality. The Summit Edition, part of the exclusive Adventurers' Collection, adds practical innovations like a roof light bar, electric trailer hitch, and underbody protection.
Inside, the #5 offers a spacious, tech-savvy interior with features like ‘zero-gravity’ leather seats, ambient lighting with 256 colours, and a sophisticated entertainment system that includes a built-in projector and a Sennheiser Signature Sound System. With 34 storage compartments and a versatile layout, the #5 sets a new standard for premium comfort and functionality in the mid-size SUV market. The smart #5’s interior is anchored by a modern HMI, featuring a 25.6-inch Augmented Reality Head-up Display and dual 13-inch AMOLED displays. Powered by an advanced AMD V2000 chip, the system ensures a smooth, responsive, and visually engaging experience. Additionally, a state-of-the-art AI voice assistant and smart avatars enable intuitive control over various vehicle functions.
Built on an 800-volt platform, the #5’s 100kWh battery offers impressive performance, with a range of over 459 miles and the ability to charge from 10% to 80% in just 15 minutes. Multiple driving modes, including off-road options, further enhance the vehicle's versatility. Set to launch in Europe early next year, the smart #5 is poised to redefine the premium electric SUV market, offering a blend of cutting-edge technology, luxury, and versatility that aligns with the evolving demands of modern drivers.
